Our Story

Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group Limited Company (hereinafter JISCO), founded in 1958, has appeared as the earliest and largest diversified modern enterprise in northwest China, which produces both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. With 63 years of construction and development, JISCO has begun to take shape a new pattern with six synergetically developing industries, namely steel, non-ferrous metals, electric energy, equipment manufacturing, productive service, and modern agriculture.

About Us

The steel industry boasts an annual production capacity of 11.05 million tons of crude steel (including 1.2 million tons of stainless steel). The non-ferrous industry possesses a production capacity of 1.7 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, 600,000 tons of aluminum sheet and strip casting, and rolling material annually, which has emerged as the sixth-largest domestic aluminum enterprise. The electric energy industry has formed a total installed power capacity of 3,446 MW of installed thermal power capacity. The enterprise has ranked 209th among the top 500 Chinese enterprises and 86th among the top 500 Chinese manufacturing enterprises. By the end of 2020, the total assets of JISCO amount to 20 billion dollars.

Established in October 2005, JISCO Stainless Steel Company, the largest stainless steel production enterprise in Northwest China, is one of the key construction projects of JISCO for product structure adjustment, product upgrading, and formation of core competitive products. Now it has completed carbon steel and stainless steel production processes from mining, mineral processing, sintering, coking to iron making, steel making, hot rolling, and cold rolling, etc. It has formed three steel production bases in Jiayuguan headquarters, Yuzhong, in Lanzhou city, and Yicheng, in Shanxi province, with an annual production capacity of 10 million tons of iron, 12 million tons of steel (including 1.2 million tons of stainless steel) and 12 million tons of profiles.
